About Sylvia

 

Sylvia Ortiz is a Licensed Clinician. She has been in the counseling field since 1998. She started her career as a social worker for Orange County’s Department of Children and Family Services.  During this period, she provided support and guidance to families in the midst of crisis dealing with child abuse and neglect.

The latter part of her Government career, Sylvia spent as a court mediator and investigator with Orange County Superior Court. She worked in the Family Court Services Division dealing with families going through the painful process of divorce and separation.

​

Sylvia is currently serving as a private practitioner in the city of Tustin. Her areas of expertise include: Children’s Play Therapy, Couple’s Counseling, Grief and Loss as well as Life Coaching.

Sylvia has been recognized nationally and locally as an authority figure in the field. She is a  consultant on Univision's Channel 34 News, where she engages and educates the general public on trending news affecting our communities, families and children.

She was invited as an expert on PBS’s award winning television program, “Los Ninos En Su Casa” and most recently, was a featured speaker in Radio Positivo’s Talk Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
